It’s a world of laughter,

A world of tears.

It’s a world of hopes,

And a world of fears.

There’s so much that we share

That it’s time we’re aware

It’s a small world : Sometimes you meet the same people in an unexpected place or find out that they are connected to people you know. The words ‘It’s small world’, are used to show your surprise on such an occasion. In this poem, the words are used to tell us that all human beings are alike.‘It’s a small world’... is a very popular song, translated into many languages. This song is played on a ride of the same title in Disneyland.

This poem is about the world as it suggest in the name itself “It ‘s a small world” It‘s a world of laughter, A world of tears. It’s a world of hopes, And a world of fears. In the above lines the poet tries to tell us that when we are happy or anyone in the world is happy he /she laughs and smiles to express their happiness. When someone is sad they feel like crying and shedding tears. These feelings are expressed in the same way by everyone in the world, no matter where they live. The poet also tells that the world is full of hope for better than what we already have. This is also related with every human being in the world and when it comes to fear, it is again the same. We human being always fear of losing something . A child in our country has a fear of unknown or dark same as the child in any other country of the world. So the poet says that the world is a small place because every where the feelings are same.

Introduction and Explanation

The poet says :There is just one moon And one golden sun.And a smile means Friendship to every one Though the mountains divide And the oceans are wide It ‘s a small word after all Students:- Madam I Know What the poet wants to say. He says that there is only one moon in the sky and one sun all over the world. Everywhere smile means you are ready to make friendship. That is universal. Yes, Very well said ! By emphasizing on one moon and one sun the poet tries to say that one sun brightens the whole world. In the some way there is only one moon which shines beautifully at night. These gifts of God are visible everywhere in the world with its same grace and beauty. He also says that meaning of smile is welcoming friendship and it is same in every part of the word. Everywhere smile is welcomed with friendship.

 I will give you some sentences. Try to guess and discuss the meanings of the given lines. First sentence is : It ‘s a word of laughter. Everyone in the world has the same expression when they are happy. We laugh when we are happy and it is the same all over the world. So the poet says: it’s a world of laughter. Coming to the next line : A world of tears. Here the poet says that as we laugh when we are happy, we cry when we are sad. It is again same all over the world. Nowhere in the world will you see people laughing or smiling when they are sad. So the poet describes this world as a world of laughter and world of tears. Coming to the next line : It ‘s a world of hopes. People in this world have high hopes. They hope to achieve something.
